Project Summary
For a major professional golf tournament, we were tasked with styling the player lounges and VIP hospitality terraces. The brief was to create a comfortable, high-end space where the atmosphere matched the quiet luxury of the sport. We wanted a look that felt open and airy, blending naturally with the green fairways of the course. Managing the high expectations for golf events in Dubai requires a specific focus on quality and luxury that aligns with the local sporting culture.
To anchor the main viewing area, we selected the Aruba Coffee Table to serve as a central gathering point. We paired this with the Arno Modular Side Chair to create a crisp, clean setup that allowed guests to relax while keeping a clear view of the action. The focus was on quality materials that felt premium but stayed functional for an outdoor sports setting.
We also designed dedicated indoor retreats for the players. The Du Roy Sofa was the centrepiece, offering a soft, velvet-textured spot for players to recharge between rounds. To keep the vibe modern and executive, we paired them with the Geo Coffee Table in Black, providing a sleek surface for drinks and tournament schedules.
Objectives
Our main priority was to deliver a world-class experience that felt more like a private club than a temporary event. We focused on tiered layouts to ensure that every seat in the spectator area offered an unobstructed view of the final putt.
Since guests and players spend the entire day on the course, comfort was essential. We used the Endless 15-Seater Curved Sofa to create large, social seating zones. These sweeping curves allowed groups of guests to gather and watch the final putts on the 18th green together in a relaxed setting. For such sports events in Dubai, our team managed the layout to ensure a cohesive experience from the first hole through to the final suites.
The lighting strategy was all about a warm, sunset-ready glow that wouldn't distract from the game. We wanted a cordless solution for the tables to keep the decks looking clean and free of cables. The Cylindro Table Light was placed on each social hub, giving the suites a more intimate atmosphere during the evening segments of the event. By mixing these traditional silhouettes with modern accents, we created a space that met the high expectations associated with prestigious golf events in Dubai.
Design Dilemma
Organising furniture for golf is all about sightlines. We had to ensure that the layout was low-profile enough so that everyone, even those at the back of the marquee, had a clear view of the fairway. Designing a functional spectator area requires a balance of comfort and visibility so that every guest remains connected to the game. Every element had to be durable enough for the heat but refined enough for a VIP audience attending high-profile golf events in Dubai.
We also needed materials that could handle the outdoor breeze while still maintaining a high-end look. We incorporated the Arno Teak Coffee Table throughout the various lounge areas. The natural wood finish was a deliberate choice to tie the modern furniture back to the organic, grassy surroundings of the golf course.
To keep the space functional, we used different seating heights. We placed the Palm Springs Cocktail Table toward the back of the suites. When paired with the Palm Springs Bar Stool, it created elevated viewing areas that allowed guests to see over the lower spectator areas without obstructing the view. Solutions and Execution
Our execution focused on a mix of deep lounging and active social areas. While the player areas were kept plush and quiet, the outdoor viewing deck was designed for movement, with bar counters as central hubs for refreshments.
On the terrace, we used the Rotor Double Sofa to provide structured seating that sat cleanly against the green surroundings. These were placed right at the edge of the viewing deck to give VIPs a front-row experience of the final holes during the most anticipated sports events in Dubai.
For the transition into the evening, we managed the mood with accent lighting. Since the space required a sculptural element to define the perimeter, we included large-scale floor lamps to act as glowing markers along the deck. This variety in seating and lighting ensured the hospitality area felt cohesive and well-suited to the event.
Results and Feedback
The transformation was well received, with guests noticing the shift toward a more relaxed, residential feel. The hospitality area became a destination in its own right, with a mood that felt refined and well put together.
The mix of large, curved sofas and lightweight high-top sets meant the space could accommodate different group sizes throughout the weekend. The flow between the deep-comfort lounges and the viewing areas allowed guests to stay connected to the game throughout the event.
The result was a premium hospitality experience aligned with the scale of the tournament. Ultimately, we delivered a layout that supported both comfort and function, ensuring a premium experience that met the scale of major sports events in Dubai.
